Cloud Server

The file storage in the cloud, or cloud computing, despite already being in the market for a long time, still suffers some kind of prejudice as their functionality and, especially, for security.

According to Dell, through Global Technology Adoption Index (Global Index of Technology Adoption), about 90% of the average Brazilian companies have joined this new reality to meet any type of need within their sectors. This raises the question: how safe is the cloud data storage?

Although many people believe that the cloud is an unsafe place to store documents and so prefer to keep all your files on their computers, servers and the like, we know that every electronic device is susceptible to loss, theft and misplacement of several forms. Be smartphones, tablets, notebooks, PC's, well, none of them lasts forever and some may end up surprising negatively if the damage is irreparable.

Ever wondered how it would lose all XMLs and PDFs of invoices from your client due to a problem in your hard drive, for theft, fire or something? Staying depending on the automatic backup is quite risky and although there are tools to test their integrity, they are very expensive. One of the advantages of storage in the cloud is the ability to keep your files intact without the need for manual backups, even if your electronic device dies. In addition, of course, you can access them from other devices, wherever you are.

According to Computer World, there are seven principles of security in a cloud network:

1. Controlled access users

You have confidential files? Do not worry about it. In the cloud, you can control user access, as well as set specific privileges for each user. Share your confidential files with anyone you want, how you want, without fear of leaking any information.

2. Compliance with regulations

As the providers of cloud service guarantee full security of the data stored in it, you, as the administrator of your account becomes solely responsible for the security, integrity and confidentiality of their data.

3. Location of the data stored

Who uses cloud probably do not know exactly where the data is stored, perhaps not the country where the information is stored. But this is not a problem because the supplier is willing to commit to storing and processing data in specific jurisdictions, making a commitment in the agreement to comply with the privacy requirements that the country of origin of the company asks.

4. Secure storage

The technology used today, allows a single file to be broken into several parts and is stored in several different servers. Thus, even with remote chances, if a server is hacked, the information contained on that server is just a fraction of the file and that is meaningless for not having the other party. It's like a puzzle of 100 pieces and the hacker can access only one piece, ie, serves no purpose.

5. Data Encryption

Your files and data will never be seen by other cloud user, unless you want to. Through encryption, your files will be accessed only by you, through your login and password.

6. Data Recovery

It is virtually impossible for you to lose a document that is stored in the cloud. But even if this will happen due to some digital disaster, you can recover your data. This thanks to the automatic backup that the service provider has.

7. long-term viability

With cloud storage, you ensure your secure archive indefinitely. Even if the service provider business were to fail or be bought by another, you have total freedom and availability to revoke your files and migrate them to another supplier, called portability.

Maybe you still have doubts about it, but know it's safe yes! Security is a matter of survival for those who provide cloud technology. If there are security problems, the lack of credibility the company would close. Therefore, cloud computing has grown and in the world, according to the survey conducted by Coleman Parkes Research. It is, without a doubt, the future of storage and the many companies that resist this technology are only delaying the inevitable. In addition, cloud computing is a challenge that the accounting firms will face in the coming years, you know?
